European Union Considers Banning Deadly Mercury-Containing Tooth Fillings

The European Union is currently debating the issue of whether or not to ban mercury fillings.

"Amalgams," which contain 50 percent mercury, is still standard issue in many European countries.

The EU has commissioned two working groups to sort out the potential health hazards, and environmental risks, and to report back by the end of 2007.

Mercury is fatal in high doses, but even low doses have been linked to a wide variety of adverse symptoms and illnesses, including:

    • mild tremors
    • neurological damage
    • kidney problems
    • autism
    • Alzheimer's disease

If you have not yet seen the telling video Mercury In Your Teeth?, then make it a point to watch it now. A visual demonstration of how the mercury fillings in your teeth vaporizes and spreads is worth more than a thousand words. You may also want to read through Mercury Toxicity and Systemic Elimination Agents, for more in-depth information about how to eliminate mercury toxicity from your body.

If something is so bad for us, why do so many of us have mercury fillings?  We were told it would not harm us, by people we trusted.

I have loads of mercury, which I am battling to get rid of now.  I have low thyroid problems, and interestingly mercury poisoning symptoms overlap strongly. Not surprising since mercury poisons the enzyme that converts thyroid hormone into it's active available form in the body.  Sorry, that's my hobby horse.

My dentist agreed to stop inserting the stuff, denied the irony that although any leftover crumbs from a filling procedure had to go in the toxic waste bin, it's not toxic in your mouth!!  Breathing all those Hg fumes have obviously affected his thinking ;)

It's correct that cremation releases mercury from corpse's fillings into the atmosphere.  If you think about it, pure mercury is already molten metal at room temperature, so it doesn't take much more heat to make it vapourize.  People living downwind of a crematorium have higher levels (even allowing for the number of fillings they may have!) than those who live further out. Sorry, can't remember where I saw that ( too many fillings), but it was something reputable.

You have to laugh, the alternatives make you so mad!

Imagine if the "powers that be" admitted that mercury amalgams were harmful. Imagine the panic. Imagine the hysteria. Imagine the anger. Imagine the lawsuits.
