yea WHAT THE HECK?!  what about MEN!!! I'm tired of all these sexual medical issue falling on the heads of women, WHY? because we suffer the most of the horrendous symptoms, but a LOT of mean in their moment of heat/hardness could give a rats *** about what they are carrying and causing - "Im sorry, the blood left my head therefore I have no control" is the most common and sad excuse for the mass un protected sex community moments, not to mention ALCOHOL which has to be the number 1 contributor to STD' ridden and pregnancy outcomed sexual activity. I am in COLLEGE I know of this crap personally and I'm tired of the girls being the only one's that seem to be concerned, now hearing of a girl in my class FORCED by her father to get this dumb untested vaccine, as all of these MEN all for putting that untested crap in our children, but yet they have not thought once about how they could be the one's spreading it. just sickening . . . come on guys . . . Don't write teens off too quickly! The statistics tell that where teens are taught (in school or at home) to avoid sexual activity the sexual activity rate drops! They also don't know that 54% of high school students are virgins (www.missthemess.com/statistics/abstinence.php). It takes the pressure of to know you're not the only one. :D What most people don't understand is that HPV is NOT blocked by a condom. It can be transmitted simply by touching! The only sexually transmitted disease that is prevented by a good, working, properly-used condom, is AIDS. Our kids usually aren't told that condoms fail 30-50% of the time (that's not a risk anyone should take with AIDS!) All the other STDs: Herpes, Syphillis, Clymidia can be transmitted with simple contact like touching. And there are lots of STDs out there. Pathology in one Cal. county said 5 of 8 girls in the local college had at least one STD! Don't hesitate to educate your teen, it works. Have them think of 8 people they are attracted to. Now have them consider 5 of them carrying a disease-maybe fatal-but you don't know who. Now ask your teen: Do You want to take the risk of being infected? It is like playing Russian Roulette. Just knowing that there are many LIFE threatening diseases out there is enough to sober a young person into considering their actions. It is a parent's job to help them thoughtfully consider their life choices, and this is an importnat one. Educate yourself first. HPV can lie dormaant in the body for up to 20 years before it becomes cancer. A person can be passing it around and not even know they have it! Dr. C. Everet Koop, Surgeon General, spoke the clear truth in a national address about AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases. He said there is one way to remain uninfected: Have One, Mutually Faithful, Uninfected, Parther - For Life. (period) It is a simple goal. Teach it to your teen to wait. Set the goals high - just as you would with other life goals. Even if your kids don't completely hit the mark, they will have aimed higher than if they weren't given any goal at all. Plus, there are no side-affects to abstinence. :)
